Pro Tools 9 and 10 Reference Guides - I use this regularly if I need to find something Cmd +F on Mac or CTRL + F for windows and search for what you are looking for.

Mixing Secrets for the Small Studio - Learned a tremendous amount about about mixing and this book helped a ton with setting up my home studio.
The Recording Engineer’s Handbook - Great starting point for mic placement. Great resource I use it as a starting guide all the time.
The Complete Pro Tools Shortcuts: Second Edition (Music Pro Guides) - Key commands baby. If you want to get quicker with Pro Tools this is your bible!
Zen and the Art of Mixing - A no bs, no holding back approach to mixing. I have read only part of this book and it is amazing.
Audio in Media - The primary book that was used while I went to school for Audio Production.

The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich (Expanded and Updated) - Amazing book changed the way I think about work and life.
The 4-Hour Chef: The Simple Path to Cooking Like a Pro, Learning Anything, and Living the Good Life - Not just a cooking book but it is a learning book. I am using some of the principles in the book to learn more about music production quicker and faster then I ever thought.
I Will Teach You To Be Rich - Great book on managing your money like I have talked about through out this site.
Rich Dad Poor Dad: What The Rich Teach Their Kids About Money That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! - Another best seller book that changed the way I think about life in general. If you only got 2 books 1 would be this one and the other would be the 4 hour work week. Well speaking purely about changing your life and perspectives.

I have listened to thousands of hours of audio books about varying topics. Here are 2 that I loved.
The 21 Success Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires - Brian Tracy is the man loved this audio book.
Get the Edge: A 7-Day Program To Transform Your Life - Title says it all. I went through this and changed my life. I went back to school and some how ended up at this little studio known as Blackbird for a while…
Tools I use
Evernote - Helps me keep notes about sessions all in one place along with current projects.
Dropbox - Where I back up all my documents to. I have even sent clients ruff mixes through drop box.
CrashPlan - One of my layers of data back up. I would have lost over 300 gigs of sessions if I did not have this. Not the best option for bigger back ups. However I only plan to back up once ever quater here. Either way it is still worth it.
